Push VGM to XPS Gross Weight field

XPS does not have a VGM field, so to see the VGM in XPS, you need to configure N4 to push the VGM value to the Gross Weight field in N4. This in turn will update the Gross Weight field in XPS with the VGM value. To do this, you'll need to create auto-update rules for the following events:

To configure auto-update rules to push VGM to XPS:

  1. From the Configuration mode, select ServicesAuto Update Rules.

  1. Click Add. The Add Auto Update Rule form opens. You will first create an Auto Update Rule for the UNIT_VGM_ASSIGNED event.

  2. Name the rule something like VGM_ASSIGNED.

  3. From the Event Type drop-down list, select the UNIT_VGM_ASSIGNED event.

  4. On the Filter tab, for Filter Criteria, select VGM Weight (kg) for the target entity.

  5. Define the operand as"is defined", then click Add Criterion.

  6. Click Save to save the Auto Update Rule.

  7. Click the Update Fields tab.

  8. Click Add.

  9. From the Field drop-down, select Gross Weight Verified.

  1. Under Field Updates, select VGM Weight (kg) from the drop-down and select Save.  This will update the Gross Weight Verified field with any updates to VGM Weight (kg).

  2. Click Add again to add another field update.

From the Field drop-down, select Gross Weight Source, then under Field Updates, select VGM from the drop-down and select Save. Now if the Gross Weight Verified is updated with the VGM Weight, then the Gross Weight Source is updated to VGM.

  1. Repeat steps 2-13 for the UNIT_VGM_UPDATE and UNIT_VGM_CANCEL events. You can use the History, Events tab in the Unit Inspector of the associated unit to view these events.

Now when you get a VGM assignment, update, or cancel a container, the VGM value will automatically get updated against the Gross Weight Verified field, which automatically gets pushed over to the Gross Weight field in XPS as part of the typical N4 to XPS synchronization.
